The priorities of the DIHK Committee for Construction and Real Estate include the framework conditions for construction projects, issues of land and housing development, the transformation of the real estate sector, as well as challenges in sustainable and digital construction. The committee brings entrepreneurial expertise from all areas of the construction and real estate industry into political advisory.
The DIHK Committee for Construction and Real Estate addresses the multifaceted challenges of the construction and real estate sector – from cost drivers and securing skilled labor to energy-efficient building standards and questions of infrastructure development. The members contribute perspectives from businesses, project development, construction, property management, and site development into the committee's work.
The committee was constituted in June 2023. Ulrich Caspar, President of the IHK Frankfurt am Main, was elected as chairman. Sylvia Pruß and Andreas Eisele were appointed as deputy chairpersons. This leadership represents a broad technical expertise within the industry.
The next meeting of the DIHK Committee for Construction and Real Estate will take place on 24th and 25th March 2026 in Brussel. Current political developments in construction and real estate will be discussed, and economic challenges will be jointly reviewed with practice, politics, and administration.
