The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Traffic Committee focuses on the future of mobility in passenger and goods transport, the financing and provision of efficient transport infrastructures, addressing competitive challenges, as well as workforce development and climate protection issues. The committee brings the perspectives of the transport and logistics sectors into political discussions.
The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Traffic Committee deals with key location and future mobility issues in Germany and Europe. Topics range from financing and modernising transport infrastructure to operational challenges in logistics and conditions for climate-friendly transport systems. The goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of companies in passenger and goods transport and ensure reliable mobility structures for the economy and society.
The inaugural meeting of the committee for the 2023–2026 term was held on 20 April 2023 at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Berlin.
Georg Dettendorfer, Managing Director of Johann Dettendorfer Spedition Ferntrans GmbH & Co. KG, was re-elected as the committee chairman.
Sandra Jachmann, Managing Partner of Erich Jachmann Spedition EJS GmbH & Co. KG, assumed the position of vice-chair.
The next meeting of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Traffic Committee will take place on 2 and 3 June 2026 in Düsseldorf.
It will focus on current challenges in the transport and logistics sectors and economic and transport policy developments that are particularly relevant to companies in the industry.
