11.12.2025 - “The planned Infrastructure Future Act contains many sensible procedural simplifications. The positive aspect is that procedures will become clearer and faster in the future – without losing sight of nature conservation. It is planned that collective actions will no longer automatically lead to delays and nature conservation compensations will be implemented more easily. This creates more planning security and accelerates projects, while ecological compensation measures remain guaranteed. These measures increase the chance that the billions from the special infrastructure fund are not wasted but truly advance Germany as an economic location."
"However, politics should not impose restrictions on overriding public interest and priority of protective goods for the infrastructure. Moreover, all approval procedures must be subject to binding deadlines and cut-off date regulations, as is partially already the case for renewable energies. These should not only be regulated in individual specialized laws for selected projects but centrally in the administrative procedures act for all planning approval procedures. The Bundestag and Bundesrat must make improvements for comprehensive acceleration."
