Building Sector Awakening: Climate Neutral. Economical. Future-Oriented.

How can new construction, renovation, and the heating transition be implemented economically and sustainably despite high costs, complex regulations, and a shortage of skilled workers? The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) conference on 28 May in Berlin presents solutions and discusses the interaction between politics and industry.

The building sector faces significant challenges: The requirements of the European Building Directive (EPBD) collide with a growing backlog in construction and renovation. Additionally, rising energy and material costs, lengthy approval procedures, and slow progress in digitisation exacerbate the situation. An open dialogue between politics and industry is therefore more crucial than ever to set the course for the future.

During the conference, representatives from politics, associations, and industry will discuss practical, technology-open, and economically viable approaches to new construction, energy-efficient renovations, heating transitions, as well as financing and innovation. A key focus will be on finding concrete solutions to effectively align political goals and economic realities. The audience will have the chance to ask questions after each panel discussion.

The event will be moderated by Dr. Inga Michler, economic reporter for "Die Welt".

The programme will be continuously updated on this website.

Due to limited space, participation confirmations will be sent on a first-come, first-served basis.
