#LocationUpgrade2026: Reform areas for a stronger economy

From labour costs and open markets to corporate taxes – Germany's economy urgently requires an upgrade. In a new LinkedIn series, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) provides a compact and fact-based analysis of the necessary reforms and measures.

For years, delayed reforms have made Germany's economy unattractive in many areas. Our DIHK LinkedIn series "#LocationUpgrade2026" shows how an upgrade can succeed.

The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) has defined ten major reform areas which are particularly important from an economic perspective. The topics range from the opening of global markets to competitive energy prices, securing skilled labour, comprehensive digitalisation and reducing labour costs and corporate taxes – to name just a few.

The key reform areas at a glance

Every week, the DIHK LinkedIn channel features a central economic topic in the #LocationUpgrades requiring optimisation and reforms from the companies' perspectives.

Why these reforms are necessary and what measures can help are summarised by our DIHK experts in short videos. You can find the numbers, data, and facts on the themes in the corresponding slides.

The series began on January 21st with the topic of trade policy due to current events.
