During the final phase of apprenticeship training, a trainee must demonstrate their professional competence. To facilitate this, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHKs) conduct examinations.
In cases where centrally created examination papers are used, there are – with the exception of Baden-Württemberg – standardized dates for the written final exams. Initial guidance is available:
- For commercial exams:
from the Task Unit for Commercial Final and Intermediate Examinations and
the Central Unit for Examination Tasks ZPA North-West.
- For industrial-technical exams:
from the Examination Tasks and Teaching Materials Development Unit of the IHK Region Stuttgart.
- For printing and media exams:
from the Central Joint Committee for Vocational Training in Printing and Media.
