09.07.2026 - "Foreign trade has shown remarkable resilience during times of geopolitical tensions and the war in the Middle East. Noteworthy is the resurgence of German exports to the USA. The process of agreement under the so-called Turnberry Deal between the EU and the USA, as well as interim arrangements for steel and aluminium derivatives, such as machinery, have had a positive impact. Otherwise, the path for our exporters remains extremely bumpy due to last year's tariff introduction."
"It is all the more important to work persistently and sustainably on restoring the competitiveness of our locations and, consequently, our products. The reform proposals by the federal government from last week can only represent a first step in this direction."
