What happens to your data when visiting the DIHK offering on X (Twitter)? Here are our privacy notices.
The DIHK uses the technical platform and services of Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103 U.S.A., for the offered short messaging service. Responsible for data processing for persons living outside the United States is Twitter International Company, One Cumberland Place, Fenian Street, Dublin 2 D02 AX07, Ireland.
Please note that you use the Twitter short messaging service and its functions offered here under your own responsibility. This applies particularly to the use of interactive functions (e.g., sharing or rating). Therefore, in your own interest, carefully consider which information you wish to disclose and share with other users.
Information on which data Twitter processes and for what purposes can be found in Twitter's privacy policy: https://twitter.com/en/privacy
The information collected by the provider's cookies is usually sent to a server in the USA and stored there. In the case of data transfer to the USA, the data transmission is based on the presence of standard contractual clauses.
The DIHK has no influence on the type and scope of data processed by Twitter, the type of data processing and use, or the transfer of this data to third parties. Nor does it have any effective control options in this respect. By using Twitter, your personal data is collected, transmitted, stored, disclosed, and used by Twitter Inc. and transmitted and stored in the United States, Ireland, and any other country where Twitter Inc. conducts business, regardless of your residence, and used there. Twitter processes both the data you voluntarily enter, such as names and usernames, email addresses, telephone numbers or the contacts in your address book if you upload or synchronize it. Additionally, Twitter evaluates the content you share to identify which topics you are interested in, stores and processes confidential messages you send directly to other users, and can determine your location using GPS data, information on wireless networks, or your IP address to provide you with advertisements or other content.
For analysis purposes, Twitter Inc. may use analytical tools such as Twitter or Google Analytics. The DIHK has no influence on the use of such tools by Twitter Inc. and has not been informed about such potential use. Should tools of this kind be used by Twitter Inc. for the DIHK account, the DIHK has neither commissioned nor agreed to this nor otherwise supported it in any way. Also, the data obtained through analysis is not made available to us. Only certain non-personal information about tweet activity, such as the number of profile or link clicks through a specific tweet, is viewable by the DIHK through its account. Moreover, the DIHK has no way to prevent or disable the use of such tools on its Twitter account.
Finally, Twitter also receives information when you view content, even if you have not created an account. These so-called "log data" may include the IP address, browser type, operating system, information about the previously visited website, the pages you visit, your location, your mobile carrier, the device you use (including device ID and application ID), or the search terms you use and cookie information.
Twitter can record your visits on websites through embedded Twitter buttons or widgets and associate them with your Twitter profile. Based on this data, content or advertising tailored to you can be offered. Since Twitter Inc. is a non-European provider with only a European subsidiary in Ireland, it is, according to its interpretation, not bound by German data protection regulations. This concerns, for example, your rights to information, blocking, or deletion of data or the option to object to the use of usage data for advertising purposes.
Options to limit the processing of your data are available in the general settings of your Twitter account and under "Privacy and Security." Additionally, you can restrict Twitter's access to contact and calendar data, photos, location data, etc., on mobile devices (smartphones, tablet computers) in the settings options there. However, this depends on the operating system used.

The DIHK also processes your data. Although it does not collect any data via its Twitter account, the data you enter on Twitter, particularly your username and the content published under your account, is processed by us insofar as we may re-tweet your tweets or respond to them or also compose tweets that refer to your account. The data you freely publish and distribute on Twitter is thus included by us in our offer and made accessible to our followers.
