02/09/2026 - "The planned income tax reform relieves low and middle incomes, which is correct. However, it is incorrect to impose heavier burdens on higher incomes in return. In Germany, this mainly affects the Mittelstand. For very many sole proprietorships, income tax is the crucial business tax. The increase of the so-called wealth tax is, in fact, a Mittelstand tax. It burdens precisely those companies that invest, train, and create jobs in Germany. In the future, they will lack the resources for innovations, investments, and new employment opportunities.
Instead of redistributing tax burdens, the federal government must get its spending under control and enable growth. Only then will genuine relief be possible. For the economy to grow again, our companies don’t need additional burdens but freedom."
