17.09.2026 - "We do not anticipate a supply problem, but rather a pricing issue. We assume that energy suppliers, as communicated by the professional associations, will meet their contractual delivery obligations. However, with low storage levels, they will increasingly need to procure gas through alternative means – at high costs. These costs ultimately fall on end customers, significantly increasing gas prices and, consequently, electricity prices. In the current economic climate, this would further weaken the competitiveness of companies. To avoid this effect in the future, the federal government should obligate gas and electricity suppliers to secure their deliveries.

Additionally, it is crucial to relieve companies in general from energy costs and, above all, make electricity cheaper. This includes finally implementing the announced electricity tax reduction for all companies, continuing the subsidy for transmission grid fees in full, and transferring additional charges and levies on electricity prices to the federal budget."
