Proof and seal for qualifications acquired through practical experience or abroad: The chambers of industry and commerce (IHK) strive to make employees' actual knowledge and skills visible.

The German chambers of commerce and industry (IHK) are responsible for organising and implementing vocational validation procedures in professions within industry, commerce, and services.

Recognition of foreign educational qualifications, assessed against IHK professions, is carried out nationwide by the competence centre IHK FOSA in Nuremberg.

The "Company Qualification Recognition" project helps with all aspects related to skilled worker immigration and the recognition of foreign professional qualifications, particularly through the "UBA Network for Skilled Worker Immigration and Recognition".

Simultaneously, the "ProRecognition" project establishes German foreign chambers of commerce (AHKs) as contact and advisory points for foreign professionals who wish to determine in their home country how their qualification compares to a German degree.
