Webinar Sicherheitskooperationen

New Impetus for International Security Cooperations

With the successful launch of a new event series on security cooperations, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) have sent a clear signal for international partnerships in the security and defence industry.

More than 170 participants attended the first webinar held on 30 October under the title 'How to do business with the Ukrainian defence sector?' focusing on the security and economic perspectives in the context of Ukraine. Additional dates are scheduled to follow.

Developments, Projects, Examples

In focus were concrete cooperation opportunities for German companies – including ones not yet active in the security and defence industry. Under the moderation of DIHK Foreign Trade Director Volker Treier and Manuel Schwab, Chair of the BDLI Export Control & Customs Committee (Diehl Defence), the event provided practical insights into current developments and potential entry points for industrial collaboration.

Colonel Matthias Puschnig from the Federal Ministry of Defence delivered key insights from the Ukraine Task Force, highlighting security and economic policy interrelations. Reiner Perau, Managing Director of the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad in Ukraine, and Sergej Sumlenny from the drone manufacturer United Unmanned Systems enriched the discussion with contributions on market entry and practical examples.

Series Continues

The new series by DIHK and BDLI will regularly focus on international security cooperation opportunities. The goal is to raise awareness for partnerships in the security and defence industry and foster international exchange.
