Foreign Trade and the European Single Market

How can open markets, fair competitive conditions, and a strong European Single Market be ensured? In Cluster 6 of the Economic Policy Positions, the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) outlines the external economic conditions companies need to operate internationally successfully and sustainably secure global value creation.

For export-oriented companies, reliable foreign trade policies are essential. Cluster 6 of the DIHK's Economic Policy Positions therefore explicitly demands: bureaucratic hurdles and export barriers must be reduced, procedures for export controls and approvals harmonised and accelerated. The focus is on competitive foreign trade, stable guarantee and financing instruments, as well as a strong and open European Single Market. This provides German companies with the planning security and market access they need for international success.
