The digital transformation must also succeed in education—in the interest of companies and future professionals. Creating the necessary basic infrastructure requires substantial public responsibility, such as harmonized data exchange standards, credentials (sogenannte Credentials only available in German), wallets (sogenannte Wallets only available in German), and statistics. Business perspectives should be particularly incorporated alongside developments at the European level. In particular, companies' skills and educational requirements provide an essential guide for the learning content. Companies should therefore also play a substantial role in designing virtual educational spaces—even in terms of how developments in artificial intelligence can be effectively linked with the skill acquisition of future professionals. Strengthening the European location for emerging educational technologies is correct from the companies' perspective, also to facilitate access to these technologies in the business context.
